Terms
Last updated [DATE]
The terms you agree to when you use SideQuest to plan a conference. Plain language, and short enough to actually read.
What SideQuest is
SideQuest asks you about ten questions and builds a suggested conference schedule from them — talks, side events, and people who may be worth meeting. It is a planning aid. It does not register you for anything, buy you a ticket, or reserve you a place.
These terms are between you and [LEGAL ENTITY NAME]. By using SideQuest you accept them.
Your account
You can take the quiz without an account. Creating one lets you keep your schedule and return to it. Keep your sign-in details to yourself — you are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at [CONTACT EMAIL] if you think someone else has access.
Buying access
Part of a schedule is free. Unlocking the rest is a one-time purchase for a given conference.
Purchases are sold by Polar, which acts as merchant of record. Your contract of sale is with Polar, and Polar’s buyer terms and refund policy govern the transaction. We unlock your conference once Polar confirms the payment.
If you are a consumer in the UK or EU you may have a statutory right to cancel; because this is digital content supplied immediately, that right may end once access is unlocked. Refund requests go through Polar.
What we do and do not promise
Event information comes from publicly listed sources and from conference organisers, and it changes constantly. Times move, venues change, and events are cancelled. We do not guarantee that any event in your schedule is accurate, still happening, open to you, or that you will get in.
Schedules are generated automatically and are suggestions, not advice. Check anything that matters against the organiser before you rely on it.
We do not promise that any particular person will attend an event or be available to meet.
The service is provided as is. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Using it properly
Do not scrape or bulk-extract our catalogue, resell access, try to break or overload the service, or use it to harass anyone. Do not enter other people’s personal details beyond a name you would reasonably expect to see on a public conference programme.
We can suspend an account that breaks these terms.
Conference names and trade marks
Conference, event and company names shown in SideQuest — including but not limited to TOKEN2049, EthCC, Devconnect, ETHGlobal, Consensus, ETH Denver and Staking Summit — are the trade marks of their respective owners. They are used only to identify the events we cover.
SideQuest is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or partnered with any of the events, organisers, venues or companies named in the service.
Our content
The SideQuest name, logo, interface and the way we assemble and present schedules belong to us. Your quiz answers and your schedule remain yours; you give us the permission we need to store and process them in order to run the service, as described in our privacy notice.
Liability
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Otherwise, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for missed events, missed meetings, travel costs or lost business, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Changes, law and contact
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will say so in the service. Continuing to use SideQuest after that means you accept the new version.
These terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION], and the courts of [JURISDICTION] have exclusive jurisdiction. Questions: [CONTACT EMAIL].
